A 1,000-piece puzzle with rotating rings.
This was a design test for Mosaic Puzzles in which I developed a vertical 1,000-piece puzzle with an additional layer of interaction. The constellation map is organized into three concentric rings that, once the board is assembled, must be rotated to reconstruct the complete image.
The process connected concept development, illustration, cut-pattern and packaging design with modeling, rendering, and 3D animation. I worked with Blender, Rhino, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects to define the system and clearly communicate how it is assembled and used.

Concept and interactive component:
The illustration combines a nighttime city with a constellation map. At the center, three circular sections work as independent pieces: they rotate without taking the puzzle apart and complete the image when their lines align again.
A cut pattern for 1,000 pieces.
The vector file combines an irregular grid with special pieces, organic forms, and iconography associated with the constellations. The three rings were integrated into the same pattern to maintain continuity between the cut and the rotation mechanism.
